I booked two weeks at Eden Rock Hotel In Sharm as my first ever solo holiday. This was also my first visit to Egypt and have to say i had a wonderful time!!

Eden Rock was clean and the staff were really friendly. It was very quiet as i think at the moment people are worried about travelling to Egypt because of the demonstrations in Cairo, but there was no evidence of any unrest anywhere near Sharm.

Mohamed, Solitair's Rep is a lovely man. He is very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. He took time out to show us the best places to go for nightlife, he arranged some fantastic trips where we were treated like VIPs, and is very knowledgeable about Egypt in general and its ancient history. I ended up doing more trips than I expected because they were all so good. I even did the Quad Bike safari into the Sinai dessert twice as i enjoyed it so much!!

The food at Eden Rock is very good and if you wish to eat out in the evening they are happy to swap your evening meal for a lunch. All the staff are very accomodating and really do go that extra mile.

The only downside I have to Eden Rock is the Hundred or so steps down to Naama Bay which is OK going down but can be a drag in the heat on the way up.

I would not hessitate to go to Eden Rock again and am contemplating booking for the new year.

Sharm El Sheikh September 2011

Had fantastic two weeks in Sharm. First time to Egypt and met some great people on both weeks. The Hotel was clean and the staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was very quiet but you never had a problem getting a sunbed round the pool! There is access to a private beach, small but nice enough.

Mohamed our Tour Rep is a fantastic guy, he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and made sure that we all had a great time. He arranged some fantastic trips for us, and I would suggest both boat trips to Tiran Island and Ras Mohammad a must especially if you are into snorkelling. I have never done snorkelling before and thank you to those who got me into it, I am definitely now hooked! Another must do is the Quad Biking in the desert, fantastic value for money and an absolutely brilliant trip, none of us could quite believe how fantastic we found this, suffice to say I did this trip twice! One guy did the trip to Cairo and one to Luxor, both said it was worth the long day and both really enjoyed the trips. There are plenty of other excursions some more sedate than others, something suitable for everyone, and Mohamed is always on hand to offer advice and arrange trips to suit, nothing is too much trouble for him

There was no entertainment at the Hotel so if you are looking for some nightlife it is only a short walk down to Naama Bay where there are plenty of bars and restaurants, although the only downside was the 110 steps down into the Bay, ok going down but a bit off a hike back to the top!

I would definitely go back to Sharm, if you are in doubt about whether to go don't hesitate you will have a great time! In fact I am hoping to go back for the New Year!

Stayed at the Hotel Bronze this summer and was very impressed. Staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful, you couldn't ask for better. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. Spent many hours at the pool bar, Adam would always be there to re-fill your glass if it ever became empty! Had some super company this year too. Made lots of new friends, you know who you are. There was so much fun and laughter I really didn't want to come home. Thanks to you all for my impromptu birthday party too - I loved the cake! I can highly recommend the Buzz bar for cocktails in the evening, definitely the best on the beach. I am speaking from experience as I managed to try most of the menu whilst there.

Beach really is that close to the hotel which helps when you've spent a long hard day soaking up the sun. Very cheap to hire sunbed and beach umbrella too, only 8 lira for the day. Julie, the solitair rep was fantastic too. Always there to help and offer advice. She even managed to organise our very own private party boat for the day which was brilliant because we could relax or have fun as and when we wanted.

Thank you all for a wonderful holiday. Hope to be back next year!

Stayed at the Hotel Appollen in Kos. Great location...45 minute walk from town centre but lots to see on the way. Beach just across the road and down a little track. Slighty further afield but still in walking distance, an excellent beach. Hotel entertainment was so cheesey it was good!!!! Rooms basic but fine. Self service buffet, plenty of choice but when we were there, often run out of crockery/ cutlery. Also, very bad layout meant lots of queues for very slow toaster made it difficult to get plates etc. Fairly small pool and beware that sun beds were often reserved late at night for the next day!!! All inclusive was worth it, especially 2nd week when hotel only charged 77 euros. Little bar across the road, (Aris, owner) was a refreshing change, very friendly. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel but. apart from it's excellent location and evening entertainment, i thouight meals, room, facilities were not as good as The Ship Inn, Cyprus (thatv was a 3 star!!). Do hire bikes as it is easy to get around with lots of cycle paths. Round the Island trip was good, as was 3 Island boat trip. Greek Night was a disappointment, mass catering food, too far from the dancing to feel part of it. Visit to Zia (Mountain village) was good for the views. Excellent supermarket about 1/2 mile from hotel towards town (called The Mall) where they sell good quality gifts, food etc. Thanks to the people I met, this was a fab holiday. However, we did virtually everything there was to do in the 2 weeks we were there so wouldn't go back.
